This is an advanced module in hands-on Endodontics designed for general dentists who regularly perform simple endodontic treatments and want to move a step forward towards more challenging cases. 

Topics include

The course will have in-depth theory discussion about biological and technical aspects of endodontics to complement hands-on workshop for access preparation, locating, shaping and filling of the root canal system. Multiple microscopes and loupes will be available during hands-on sessions. The participants will have access to with CBCT scans of their extracted teeth.

Learning Objectives

The learning objectives of the workshops are:
  • Understanding diagnosis and case selection

  • Understanding CBCT for its clinical applications in endodontic diagnosis and management

  • Locating root canals including difficult to locate orifices with understanding of the basic science for clinical applications

  • Negotiating and shaping mild to moderately curved / calcified root canals using advanced tools and practical techniques

  • Identifying and avoiding potential complications during root canal shaping

  • An introduction to ultrasonic tools and its practical uses

  • Modern root fillings with warm vertical compaction techniques

  • Clinical remedies for hot pulp cases

  • Understanding cracked teeth and its endodontic management

  • Understanding prognosis for endodontic treatments

  • Improving effective patient communications for endodontic management
