Dr Tihana Divnic-Resnik is a Senior Lecturer in the Discipline of Periodontics at the University of Sydney. Previously, she was a lecturer in Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of Belgrade, Serbia for 10 years, where she also practised as a specialist of Periodontology and Oral Medicine.

She has extensive teaching experience within Periodontics, is responsible for teaching and coordinating the simulation and clinical training of students in all four years of the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program within the two main teaching hospitals and is also involved with the teaching of Bachelor of Oral Health (BOH) and DClinDent postgraduate students in Periodontics. She is also involved in research and currently supervising a number of research projects of graduate (DMD) and postgraduate students 
(DClinDent).

Tihana gained her Master degree by doing research on periodontal regeneration with synthetic bone graft based on calcium sulphate and her PhD degree by researching the use of bone morphogenetic proteins BMP-2 in alveolar socket preservation. She has published her work in several international journals and presented it at numerous professional conferences. Her research interests lie mainly in the areas of periodontal therapy, bone regeneration, tissue management, oral microbiology and locally delivered oral microbial.

In addition, she is appointed as the Coordinator of the Foundation of Clinical Dentistry (FCDB) for the first and second year of the Doctor of Dental Medicine program and is involved in the clinical treatment of patients at the Department of Periodontics at the Sydney Dental Hospital.
