Dr David Joo is an AHPRA-registered Oral Medicine Specialist, having completed his Bachelor of Dental Science (BDSc) at the University of Queensland in 2012, and further post-graduate research, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2018. He pursued further specialist training and earned a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (DClinDent) in Oral Medicine from the University of Sydney in 2024. He holds public appointments as a Staff Specialist in Oral Medicine at Campbelltown and Liverpool Hospitals, where he is also a member of both the Haematology Transplant and Cellular Therapies and the Head and Neck Service at the Liverpool Cancer Therapy Centre. He is also a Clinical Fellow at Westmead Hospital; and works privately with the Sydney Specialist Dental Group in St Peters. His doctoral treatise investigated the emergent oral manifestations of novel cancer immunotherapies and their management.
