Scanning, Planning, Surgery and Prosthetics
The predictable implant replacement of a single tooth has a long history and advances in digital technology can now be implemented into all aspects of the implant workflow from the surgery to the prosthetics. This program will guide a dentist through the complete digital implant workflow for the replacement of a single missing tooth from intra-oral scanning, guided surgery protocols through
to the provisional and definitive restoration of the implant using digital techniques.
The surgical placement of dental implants requires careful planning to optimise the long term aesthetic and functional outcome. Not only is a CBCT scan essential, but the use of implant planning software can enhance the precision and outcome significantly.
Assessment and treatment planning using intra-oral scanners then linked into DTX implant planning software will form the basis of the surgical planning from which a CADCAM surgical guide will be printed on site to then be used for the introduction into hands on guided implant surgery.
After implant placement, intra-oral scanning will again be demonstrated and used to enable the on site fabrication of a printed provisional crown. Varies techniques of provisionalisation will be explored along with digital impression for the definitive crown.
The program will cover theory with direct hands on of intra-oral scanning, implant planning, guided implant surgery and fabrication of a provisional implant crown for the dentist to implement directly into their practice.
The course is best suited to a dentist already familiar with restoring implants who wants to expand their skills or shift into a digital workflow with digital impression taking, or dentists unfamiliar with the digital workflow for single implant surgical replacement.
