Join Dr Anita Lim, Dr Jayce Gilbert, and Mr Ankit Garg for this comprehensive lecture and hands on workshop which will demystify the management of TMD, providing approaches for use in General Practice and guidance on when to refer. The lectures in the morning will introduce the principles of temporomandibular disorder (TMD) diagnosis, and holistic treatment planning and management from the perspectives of Oral Medicine, Physiotherapy and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Conservative approaches, such as physiotherapy, occlusal appliances, and pharmacotherapy, and surgical management will be discussed. Participant learning will be consolidated in the afternoon hands-on workshop demonstrating the TMD examination following the Diagnostic Criteria for TMD and manual therapy approaches for pain relief and basic exercises for joint clicking and deviations.
