Reviewing the basic principles of endodontic treatment
This course is designed to reinforce the basic principles of endodontics and prepare the participant to carry out both routine endodontic treatment and undertake advanced endodontic training with enhanced confidence. The course is in two parts, a comprehensive day of lectures followed by a two-day hands-on workshop.
Delegates may choose to enrol only for part 1, however participants must attend Part 1 in order to enrol for Part 2. Register for the workshop here.
The one-day lecture program aims to review the basic principles of endodontic treatment and prepare the general practitioner to perform endodontics on a routine and predictable basis. A summary Q&A session will be held following the conclusion of the planned lectures.

- Develop a systematic approach to endodontic diagnosis
- Understand the requirements for a good access cavity
- Apply anatomic principals to locate root canals
- Obtain accurate working lengths with the electronic apex locator
- Identify the objectives in root canal preparation
- Recognise how these objectives can be met with modern instruments and techniques
- Understand the role of irrigation and intracanal medication
- Understand the goals of obturation and how to achieve them with different materials and techniques
