40+ years of orthodontic successes and failures with tricks and treats for everyone
Course Summary
Advanced Orthodontic Biomechanics is an on-going orthodontic lecture series primarily designed to answer specific orthodontic treatment questions. As has been the case for the past few years the course contents for this orthodontic seminar are based on questions and topics submitted from the previous year’s participants. The surveys from these groups results in numerous request to answer specific questions regarding specific treatment problems and have been grouped together in order of the most requested items.
One popular subject was for tips for treatment timing of Class II and Class III cases as well as some general treatment protocols for these cases. Another common request had to do with crossbite corrections both posterior and anterior and the timing and treatment to correct these crossbites. Other questions related to correction of deep over bites, retention protocols for various malocclusions, dealing with aligner problems (what is possible and what is not), and finishing and detailing cases, more tips for dealing with relapse cases as well as cases where things didn’t work out as planned.
Additionally, there was (once again) the request to see more of the tips and tricks that Dr Lowenhaupt has acquired through 40 years of experience. So this year’s seminar will seek to address these items (including answering many of the specific questions that were asked).
This will not be a repeat of last year’s information.
Multiple cases will be utilised to demonstrate various aspects of mechanics and treatment modalities with particular interest paid to the best available ‘evidenced based information’. Additionally, multiple treatment ‘pearls’ will be shown to make your practice easier and more efficient and where applicable hands-on exercises will be used to demonstrate specific techniques.

A word from Dr Lowenhaupt:
Participants Case Consultations
Participants may also bring individual cases to review or discuss. These cases will be discussed during the breaks, lunch and before the course starts each day. Should you decide to bring the records on a case from your office please respect the 2 case maximum.
I am sure that you will find this seminar to be an exciting, motivating and provocative experience in the continuation of your orthodontic educational pursuits.
