Dental Radiography Compliance: What Your Practice Needs to Know

This video, delivered by the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) in collaboration with Advisory Services at ADA NSW, provides dentists with clarity on the regulatory requirements for the use, safe storage, and transfer of radiation regulated material (RRM).

Viewers will gain an understanding of the EPA’s role as the radiation regulator, licensing requirements for radiation management and users, radiation safety obligations, and compliance expectations.

The session will outline Radiation Management Plan requirements which must be in place before 1 September 2026.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this video, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the key requirements relating to the storage, transfer, and operation of radiation regulated material.
  • Identify licensing, radiation safety, and compliance obligations, including requirements for Radiation Management Licences, Radiation User Licences, signage, and Radiation Management Plans.
  • Apply lessons from recent EPA compliance activities to strengthen compliance and radiation safety within their practice.
