ADA NSW members insured with Guild Insurance can access up to two hours of free telephone legal advice. The legal advice is provided by Meridian Lawyers at no cost to Guild insured dentists. The ‘up-to-two hours’ no-cost service each year is restricted to a range of specific topics and can be broken into time components over the course of the calendar year. This is a benefit offered by Guild Insurance (in association with Meridian Lawyers) for Guild insured ADA NSW members.

The assistance offered by Meridian Lawyers on behalf of Guild Insurance is limited to the following list:

1. The receipt of a subpoena
2. Restraint of trade in employment contracts
3. The engagement of a contractor
4. Subletting of rooms
5. Medicare rebates
6. The receipt of a summons
7. The request to produce documents (including client files)
8. Renters advice regarding being asked to vacate premises immediately
9. The request by a Lawyer to attend Court
10. Confidentiality requirements
11. Legal obligation on termination of consultancy
12. The theft of computer equipment containing client information
13. The destruction of client records
14. The release of a client report (by the client) to the media

Please note:

The advice is to be provided to the Guild insured dentist, not a delegated other person.

The business matter cannot relate to an existing Claim or potential Claim under the Guild Policy.

If the Policy is held by the Principal dentist, advice cannot be provided to his/her employees etc covered under the same policy.

If you have taken the optional benefit of Employment Practices Liability under your Guild Policy you may be entitled to separate cover under the Policy and should contact Guild Sales and Service on 1800 810 210 and ask to speak with a dental expert.
