2026 Dental Health Week

Members from across NSW and the ACT have taken part in Dental Health Week activities from 3-9 August.

Dental Health Week is the ADA’s annual flagship oral health promotion event and this year it is focusing on the oral health of 18-to-25-year-olds.

ADA NSW Board member and Advocacy Committee Chair Dr Sophie Halpin attended Lady Cutler Oval in Dubbo during the weekend soccer events to speak with community members and hand out oral health brochures.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chair of the ADA NSW Advocacy Committee, Dr Mohit Tolani (and his son Khush) participated in a childcare visit at The Grove Academy in Wollongong. Dr Tolani also took part in a media interview with Region Illawarra.

ADA NSW Board member and Filling the Gap dental charity Chair Dr Jodie Olivier participated in a fun and interactive presentation at the Spark in the Park: Smile! event on Wednesday, organised by Randwick City Library.

Dr Olivier attended to raise awareness about good oral health practices in the community. Spark in the Park is held monthly at Randwick Community Centre for children aged up to five years.

Whilst ACT-based member Dr Caroline Madsen participated in a Dental Health Week visit to Ngunnawal Child Care and Education Centre.

Dr Madsen visited the centre to give the children an engaging presentation, including important advice on good toothbrushing habits and to hand out oral hygiene products.

ACT-based dentist Dr Aradhna Rastogi visited an after-school care program at Monash Primary School as part of Dental Health Week.

Dr Rastogi visited the school to teach more than 60 children about dental care and provide an oral health education session to give the children some knowledge around their daily dental routine.

Other member activities during Dental Health Week will be featured on our social media channels and profiled in the Oct/Nov 2026 issue of NSW Dentist magazine.
