Ed studied at Otago University New Zealand completing a Bachelor of Physiology (HON) followed by a Bachelor’s in Dental Surgery in 2004.
He began his dental career working at Hunter New England Health as a Dental Officer. This followed his practice at Boulton Dental (previously known as Boulton Dental) in 2008, under the mentorship of Dr. Paul Beath.

Ed mostly enjoys helping people with their oral health, getting them back on track.

His professional interests include root canal, complex restorative/full mouth rehabilitation, simple dental implants, and smile makeovers.

He enjoys the recent advancements in dental technology, including same day crowns, how it improves the way we deliver treatment to patients and makes it fun.

Ed recently travelled to Tacoma, Washington, USA to achieve certification as a Bioclear Provider, being only one of two Australian dentists with this certification.

The Bioclear Method has been developed in America over the last 20 years by pioneer Dr David Clark DDS. This method has taken the old amalgam cavity preparations and modernised the cavity design to match the new composite/tooth coloured filling materials dentists use to improve tooth and filling strength. It is a very conservative approach to dentistry. The Bioclear Method can restore black triangles in-between front teeth as well as restoring front teeth with 360 degree Bioclear veneers.

The Bioclear method is taught in a number of dental schools in the USA and Canada and is backed with strong scientific evidence and long-term studies.

Ed is certified in Core Anterior, Core Posterior, Advanced Anterior and full mouth rehabilitation under the training of Dr. David Clark DDS, Dr. Charlie Regalado DDS, Dr. Jennifer Roe DDS and Dr. Rafael Bustamante DDS

Ed is passing down his expertise and passion for The Bioclear Method through training of Australian Dentists.

Outside of practice, he spends any spare time with his daughter Berenice, surfing and running long distances with his Saluki ‘Biscuit’.
