Important Information for the Day

1. Extracted Teeth (Recommended)
For the best hands-on experience, we recommend bringing natural extracted teeth. Ideally:

• Mounted in putty for easy handling
• Access already prepared
• X-rays taken from the mesial and buccal views

Feel free to prepare the access aggressively and flatten coronally, as the focus will be on canal preparation and obturation techniques.

We will provide plastic teeth for all exercises; however, natural teeth allow for a more realistic experience and the opportunity for detailed troubleshooting with Dr O’Sullivan.

Access techniques will be covered during the course, and a Q&A session will be held at the end for any specific questions.

Endodontic Access, Preparation & Obturation Course

This endodontic seminar and hands-on workshop is designed to help clinicians develop the skills to prepare and obturate canals more conservatively using the latest heat-treated NiTi file systems.

With a strong focus on preserving tooth structure while achieving predictable clinical outcomes, participants will gain practical experience in access preparation, canal shaping, and obturation techniques. The majority of the session is hands-on, allowing clinicians to apply techniques directly in a guided environment.

Learning Outcomes

• Understand the principles of conservative endodontic access
• Utilise modern heat-treated NiTi files safely and effectively
• Improve glide path management for predictable preparation
• Prepare canals using a structured, systematic approach
• Understand and apply obturation techniques using bioceramic sealers
• Reduce the risk of iatrogenic errors

• Failure of root canal treatment and how to minimise risks
• Access cavity design for improved visibility and conservation
• Glide path management and file selection
• Canal preparation techniques using modern systems
• Obturation techniques including GP sizing and length control

Mark O’Sullivan

Mark is a registered specialist in Endodontics and currently practices in Newcastle, NSW. He and his colleagues have focused on conservative, restorative-based endodontics for over a decade.

His commitment to clinical excellence led him and Pat to partner with SS White, ensuring their teams had access to best-in-class endodontic tools. This mission to simplify endodontics for others became the foundation for E3Endo.
