The program will provide an overview of the current thinking in periodontics. Attendees will learn about periodontics in a structured way which will help them incorporate periodontal therapy into their practice. There will be a hands-on component focusing on non-surgical therapy.

• Epidemiology and risk factors of periodontitis
• Screening, classification and diagnosis
• Non surgical periodontal therapy
• Adjunctive therapy and antimicrobial
• Supportive periodontal therapy

Learning objectives:

• Learn to diagnose and classify periodontitis
• Understand what treatment is appropriate and gain hands on experience in non surgical periodontal therapy
• Gain knowledge about adjunctive therapies and when these might be appropriate
• Learn how and when to implement periodontal maintenance in your practice and when to refer.
