Shared learning was the flavour of the day at the induction day for participants in the ADA NSW Professional Transitional Support Program (ADAPTS), held in Sydney on Sunday, 19 February. ADA NSW President, Dr Sabrina Manickam, launched the 2017 mentoring program. She spoke of the key role mentors play in helping younger dentists to achieve their career goals. “Young dentists today face a very different environment with a range of challenges. The mentor program is a new initiative that came out of the Recent Graduates Committee and ADA NSW is very pleased to be supporting so many dentists. Having a more experienced mentor to help guide your career and offer advice in tough times is a great comfort,” Dr Manickam said at the launch. More than 80 mentors and mentees are participating in the program after a successful pilot was run last year.
