Is it safe to visit the dentist?
It is safe to visit the dentist but due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic dental clinics will continue to screen patients before appointments. The good news is that from Friday 8th May, routine dental treatment can now be provided for all patients that are not COVID-19 positive or suspected of being COVID-19 positive.
What treatment can be done?
Routine dental treatment can now be carried out with appropriate measures in place to ensure that patients and dental staff are protected. This relies on patients being pre-screened to identify those at risk of having active COVID19 infection, For those who are COVID-19 positive or suspected of being COVID-19 positive, it is necessary to delay all routine dental treatment until the infection has passed. COVID-19 positive or suspected patients who have urgent or emergency dental needs should call their dentist to discuss their options.
