Reviewing the basic principles of endodontic treatment


The latest trends, developments and techniques in the rapidly changing world of endodontics can be confusing and difficult to evaluate, especially for recent graduates at the beginning of their careers.

This one-day lecture program aims to review the basic principles of endodontic treatment and prepare the general practitioner to perform endodontics on a routine and predictable basis.

This lecture day is a prerequisite to attend a two-day hands-on workshop on Fri 24 May - Sat 25 May 2024 (limited seating).

 


 

Topics include

  • Endodontic diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Access cavity design and canal location
  • Length determination with electronic apex locators and radiographic techniques
  • Root canal preparation principles
  • Obturation of the root canal space

Learning Objectives

  • Develop a systematic approach to the diagnosis of endodontic cases
  • Understand the most effective clinical tests that will facilitate that correct diagnosis
  • Improve endodontic outcomes by improving the accuracy of working length determination
  • Identify the objectives in root canal preparation 
  • Recognize how these objectives can be met with modern instruments and techniques
  • Understand the role of irrigation and medication in endodontic treatment
  • Understand the goals of obturation and how to achieve them with different materials and techniques
