Graduated BDSc with honours at University of QLD dental school in 1982. Whilst still an undergraduate I published two articles on periodontics. I worked private practice as a general dentist in the north Queensland toen of Home Hill for five years. In 1987 I was awarded a post-graduate scholarship to study MDSc under the supervision of Professor GReg Seymour at the University of Queensland. I registered as a specialist periodontist in 1990 and immediately following the completition my MDSc I spent six months a Head of Periodontics at the UnitedDental Hospital in Sydney, prior to commencing full-time private practice as a periodontist on the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Far Northern NSW in July 1990. I then established Benowa Mansions Periodontal Practice on the Gold Coast in 1993, with a branch practice at Mullumbimby from 2003 to 2018.

I commenced dental implant training at the Sydney Branemark Centre in 1994 under the OMS Dr Alistair Stevenson. In the last 25 years since completing dental implant traINING, I have placed over 15,000 dental implants and have been involved with both the prosthetic and surgical training of dental implants for over 200 dentists. I hope to remian in private practice for at least another 15 years as I continue to enjoy the challenge of periodontics and dental implant therapy.
