David completed his Bachelor degree in Dentistry from the University of Queensland in 1994. He then practiced as a dentist in both public and private practices in Bundaberg, Queensland and Adelaide, South Australia before embarking on his specialist degree.

David attained his Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics in 2004 from the University of Adelaide and practiced Endodontics in Adelaide for a brief period before moving to Newcastle in 2005 and starting a specialist practice. Since this time, David has been practicing as an Endodontist in Newcastle.

David is a member of the Australian Society of Endodontics and the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists. Away from the practice, David enjoys spending time with his family, heading down to the beach for a surf and a swim.
