Anthony was born in 1957, the son of a surgeon working for rural people in the small African country of Lesotho. Anthony graduated from both dentistry and medicine at Sydney University and in 1991 completed specialist training in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery. Two one-year overseas oncology fellowships followed. These were at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto (Canada) and at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore (USA).

Anthony has been part of the head and neck unit at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital since 1994 and joined the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse head and neck department when it opened. His dental and otolaryngology background has inspired a strong interest in oral and laryngeal pathology in him. Other areas of interest include the management of salivary gland tumours and thyroid pathology.

Anthony strives to provide patient care to the highest possible standard and equitable access to medical information, advice and treatment for all.
