DR ALAN DEUTSCH
Dr Alan Deutsch is a general dental practitioner in Sydney and a Senior Clinical Lecturer, Sydney University with a special interest in oral health of the elderly. He is a member of the Oral Health Reference Committee for the Centre for Education and Research in Ageing (CERA) and consultant to the Montefiore Dental Clinic.

Dr Deutsch has a special interest and research experience in the prevention of oral disease in the elderly and in barriers to care in nursing homes. He has published a number of papers on minimally invasive dental treatments, the use of silver fluorides, the training of nurses to assess the risk of oral disease, formulate and deliver advanced preventive oral care plans.

Dr Deutsch has developed and introduced both theory and practical courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students at Sydney University on root caries and the use of silver fluorides to arrest, prevent, manage caries and improve gingival health in the elderly.
